As the head coach, he achieved remarkable success, guiding the Sheffield Sharks to several titles and solidifying their position as the most successful franchise in the league’s history. His coaching prowess was particularly evident when he led Sheffield to win the regular season title in the 1998–99 season, earning him the prestigious title of BBL Coach of the Year.

Beyond his coaching achievements in England, Chris Finch extended his influence to the National Basketball Association (NBA). He served as an assistant coach for various NBA teams, including the Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Toronto Raptors.
