Spanish former professional footballer, Bruno Saltor has been appointed as the new Interim Head Coach of English Premier League side, Chelsea Football Club. This is his first managerial position in his career as a coach.

He retired from professional football as a player at the head of the 2018/19 season after playing seven seasons for Brighton & Hove Albion and serving as the captain of the team.

Saltor was appointed right after the team’s head coach, Graham Potter was sacked on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

“Chelsea FC has announced that Graham Potter has departed the club. Graham has agreed to collaborate with the Club to facilitate a smooth transition. In his time with the club, Graham has taken us to the quarter-final of the Champions League, where we will face Real Madrid. Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future. Bruno Saltor will take charge as interim Head Coach,” the team announced in an official statement.
