Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, founder and leader of The New Force, has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to expand access to voter registration ahead of the 2024 elections.

In a statement issued, Cheddar questioned the rationale behind the restrictive measures implemented in the ongoing voter registration exercise, which currently limits registration to only the District Offices of the EC.
Stressing the crucial role of the Electoral Commission in upholding the integrity and inclusivity of the electoral process, Cheddar emphasized the importance of transparent decision-making that respects the democratic rights of the people.
Speaking on behalf of The New Force and the citizens of Ghana, Cheddar called on the Electoral Commission to reconsider its approach and take immediate steps to broaden access to voter registration.

Highlighting the practices in other democratic nations, where voter registration remains open and accessible until just weeks before elections, Cheddar urged the EC to follow suit and prioritize the rights of Ghanaian citizens to participate freely and fairly in the electoral process.
