Dawn Steele was an American studio executive and producer. She was married to Charles Roven, an American film producer.

The former couple were married from 1985 until her death in 1997. The two had a daughter born in March 1987.
Dawn Steele was one of the first women to lead a major Hollywood picture company, rising through the ranks of merchandising and production to become president of Columbia Pictures in 1987.
She co-founded Atlas Entertainment with her then husband, Charles Roven, and Bob Cavallo in 1994. Turner Pictures gave them a three-year first look deal.

Steel received the Women in Film Crystal Award in 1989 for remarkable women who have served to enhance the position of women in the entertainment business via their endurance and the excellence of their work.
Steel was diagnosed with brain cancer in April 1996, at the age of 49, and died on December 20, 1997, after a 20-month struggle with the disease. Her film City of Angels was made in her honor.
