Charles Ogletree Cause of Death

American attorney and law professor, Charles Ogletree has been reported dead. According to his family, he died on Friday, August 4, 2023, at age 70. He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in his 60s, which gradually led to his death.

Born on December 31, 1952, Charles Ogletree’s first work as an attorney was for the District of Columbia Public Defender Service until 1985. He then went on to work as training director, trial chief, and deputy director.

He was one of the most popular attorneys who became significant after representing famous figures like Tupac Shakur and Anita Hill. He also became a professor at Harvard Law School in 1985.

Ogletree was also a member of the board of trustees at Stanford University and founded the Merced, California Scholarships. He also served as the chairman of the board of trustees of the University of the District of Columbia. He was a former National President of the Black Law Students Association.
