Littlejohn is a former contractor with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), facing accusations bordering on a significant breach of confidentiality.
Littlejohn’s journey in the realm of government service began when he transitioned from his role as a network security analyst for General Dynamics Information Technology to join the IRS in July 2012.

In October of the same year, Littlejohn pleaded guilty to unlawfully disclosing tax returns and return information.

His admission revealed his involvement in acquiring and disseminating the tax records of notable figures, including former President Donald Trump, to various news outlets. This breach led to the publication of confidential information in several news articles.
As a consequence of his actions, Littlejohn faced a severe penalty. In January 2024, he was sentenced to the maximum punishment of five years in prison, accompanied by three years of supervised release and a $5,000 fine.
Judge Ana Reyes condemned his behavior, describing it as an assault on the fundamental principles of democracy.
