Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley Part Ways After 5 Years of Marriage

Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley have decided to part ways after five years of marriage.

In a joint statement posted on their Instagram Stories on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the hip-hop star, 30, and his wife, also 30, revealed that they have amicably chosen to end their marriage after a period of separation.

“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways,” the statement read. “We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”

The former couple emphasized that their two daughters, Kensli, 7, and Marli, 4, remain their top priority. They expressed their commitment to coparenting their children together, acknowledging the blessing of their beautiful daughters bestowed upon them by God.

“God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together,” they shared. “We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you,” the note, signed “Chance & Kirsten,” concluded.

The announcement of their separation comes following speculations last year after footage surfaced of Chance dancing with another woman at his 30th birthday celebration in Jamaica.

However, the couple has remained relatively private about their relationship status until now.

Chance the Rapper, whose real name is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, and Kirsten Corley tied the knot in March 2019. Their relationship began in 2012 when they reconnected at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, sparking a romantic connection upon their return to Chicago, their hometown.

Despite their decision to part ways, Chance and Kirsten have expressed gratitude for the time they spent together and remain committed to raising their daughters in a loving and supportive environment.
