Mofe Duncan, a Nigerian actor, has announced his intentions to go off social media amid controversies.
In a lengthy post, he disclosed how social media has caused him pain in his family. He lamented how false rumors created by bloggers have put his sanity at stake. However, his decision to go offline to work on making happiness in his family flourish. All his marriages over the years could not succeed due to some rumors and marital problems arisen.

Being able to detect that, all these were caused by some blogs who sent out false news to tarnish his image, he has now taken firm grounds to say goodbye to social media for a better life.

He wrote:
Due to certain situations and constant irritation caused by certain blogs @mofeduncan would be shut down till further notice. For more than a couple of years, certain blogs have threatened my sanity with false claims rumors, absurd stories, and defamation of character and have put my family and me in content crosshairs for ridicule and negativity. In the bid to maintain my sanity at the end of what has been a difficult year for all, unwanted rancor is not welcomed and thus this platform has become hostile and a weapon to propagate bad blood. Thanks to everyone who has been a genuine part of my progress and has wished me well. Truly appreciate your love. Forever the man like More
