As the first prosecution witness, Mr. Osei-Kufuor disclosed that the stolen monies belonged to himself, his wife, his wife’s family, and his niece, who was also his client.

He alleged that former housemaids Patience Botwe and Sarah Agyei, along with five others, conspired to steal the money.

During cross-examination on Wednesday, May 15, Mr. Osei-Kufuor was asked about the duration over which they had been depositing the stolen funds in the storeroom. He responded that it had been over the past 20 years.

He also detailed the methods employed by the accused individuals to carry out the thefts, stating that one would operate inside while another kept watch at the gate, with assistance from another individual who provided duplicate keys.

Patience Botwe, Sarah Agyei, Benjamin Sowah, Malik Dauda, Christiana Achab, Job Pomary, and Yahaya Sumaila, all denied charges including conspiracy to steal, stealing, dishonestly receiving, and money laundering.

Despite being granted bail, they have not met their bail conditions and remain in custody.

Mr. Osei-Kufuor further revealed that two sets of US$210,000 and US$200,000, along with £300,000, GHc300,000, and GHc50,000, were stolen from the storeroom, belonging to various individuals including his deceased brother-in-law and his niece.

The cross-examination of Mr. Osei-Kufuor by Benjamin Sowah’s legal team is scheduled for May 20, as directed by Justice Marie-Louise Simmons, the presiding judge.
