Legendary American singer and actor Bing Crosby was born on May 3, 1903 in Tacoma, Washington to parents Catherine Harrigan and Harry Lincoln Crosby.

Crosby’s mother was a second-generation Irish-American. She was born in 1873 and died in 1964. She was 90 years.
Crosby was the fourth of seven children. His siblings included brothers Laurence Earl “Larry” (1895–1975), Everett Nathaniel (1896–1966), Edward John “Ted” (1900–1973), and George Robert “Bob” (1913–1993); and two sisters, Catherine Cordelia (1904–1974) and Mary Rose (1906–1990).

Crosby’s mother was known as Kate to her friends and “The Boss” to her family.
She ruled her family with warmth and affection, but even Bing knew when a show, an associate, or a song irritated her.
Following the death of her husband in 1949, Kate lived with her son Bing Crosby in Holmby Hills.
Bing was a leader in record sales, radio ratings, and motion picture grosses from 1926 to 1977. He was one of the first global cultural icons. He made over 70 feature films and recorded more than 1,600 songs.
Bing Crosby died on October 14, 1977. He was 74 years.
