Deneuve’s familial tapestry included two sisters, Françoise Dorléac and Sylvie Dorléac, along with a maternal half-sister, Daniele, born out of wedlock in 1936.

Living well into her centenary years, Renée Simonot, born in 1912, showcased a remarkable vitality. Even at the age of 102, she expressed gratitude for the love and companionship that surrounded her daily. As a widow since 1979, Simonot continued to be a matriarchal presence, receiving regular phone calls and visits from her devoted children and grandchildren.

In the poignant months leading up to her 108th birthday in 2019, Catherine Deneuve marveled at her mother’s enduring spirit, attributing it to the robust genes that coursed through their family. Simonot’s longevity was a testament to resilience, defying the passage of time with grace.

Tragically, the world bid farewell to Renée Simonot in July 2021, as she peacefully passed away in Paris at the remarkable age of 109.
