Cantanhede, Catarina Melônio Macário is a Brazilian-born American professional soccer player who now plays for Chelsea in England’s Women’s Super League. She is the international face of the United States. Macario had a successful collegiate career in the United States.

Macario is eligible to play for both Brazil and the United States at the international level. She was chosen to represent the United States at a number of different juvenile levels.
Macario made her debut for the United States on January 18, 2021, during a friendly match against Colombia, becoming the first naturalized American to play for the US senior women’s team.
