Spanish actress, Carmen Sevilla has been reported dead. According to sources, she died on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, of Alzheimer’s disease and pneumonia at a hospital in Madrid. She was 92 years old.

Born on October 16, 1930, Carmen Sevilla made her debut film appearance in 1946 with the documentary Hombres Ibericos and with a supporting role in Serenata Espanola in 1974. That same year she participated in the Miss Spain contest.

She had her first leading film role in 1948’s Jalisco Sings in Seville. Her role to fame after she starred in The Troublemaker in 195 with Tony Leblanc. After the movie, she became one of the most popular and highest-paid Spanish actresses.

Sevilla went on to star in other films including Imperial Violets, Vengeance, King of Kings, and more. She made her debut American television appearance at The Ed Sullivan Show, where she performed live songs “Mis noches de Madrid” and “Estando contigo” both composed by her then-husband, Augusto Alguero.
In 1991, she began her career as a television presenter working in different shows and specials for three major Spanish networks until she retired in 2010. She was 70 years old when she retired.
Sevilla is known for several movies and tv shows including The Troublemaker, The Dream of Andalusia, Love and Desire, Congress in Seville, The Partisan of Villa, Desert Warrior, Searching for Monica, The Partisan of Villa, The Locket, The Boldest Job in the West, The Glass Ceiling, and more.
