Carly Rae Patterson is an American singer, composer, and former artistic gymnast. She was the 2004 Olympic all-around champion, the first for the United States in a non-boycotted Olympics, and a member of the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame.

Patterson began gymnastics in 1994 after attending a cousin’s birthday celebration at a Baton Rouge gymnastics club (Elite Gymnastics).
Patterson competed in the balancing beam event final on August 23, 2004, and received a score of 9.775 to win the silver medal behind Cătălina Ponor of Romania.
Following the Olympics, she was featured on the television show Hollywood at Home in December 2011. Patterson collaborated with the Taylor’s Gift Foundation as the spokesperson for their 2012 organ donation challenge.

Carly is the daughter of Ricky and Natalie Patterson and she has one sister, Jordan. Her mother was also a gymnast. Patterson’s goal for gymnastics is to be a contender for the 2004 Olympic Team.
She liked to study dental hygiene in college and her hobbies are swimming, bike riding, and
computers. Patterson’s role models are her parents, sister, and coaches.
