Carlos Carrasco is an American by nationality. However, Carlos Luis Carrasco, nicknamed “Cookie”, was born on March 21, 1987, in Barquisimeto, Venezuela to parents Luis Carrasco and Maria Carrasco.

The Philadelphia Phillies signed Carlos Carrasco as an undrafted free agent on November 25, 2003. In 2006, Carrasco spent the entire season at the Single-A level with the Lakewood BlueClaws. Carlos Carrasco was discovered by a baseball scout in Venezuela when he was 16 years old.

Carlos Carrasco was ranked as the top prospect in the Phillies organization twice, entering both the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Carrasco was named the 41st-best prospect in baseball entering the 2007 season. He was the 2019 recipient of the Roberto Clemente Award.
Carlos Carrasco made his Major League Baseball debut with the Cleveland Indians on September 1 2009. He has a win-loss record of 102–83. He also has an earned run average of 3.87 as well as strikeouts of 1,479. Carlos has been on the World roster for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 All-Star Futures Games.
