In a statement released to the Ghana News Agency on Saturday, Mr. Fred Nyankah, the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, explained that the decision was necessary to maintain the standard of care and ensure patient safety.

“Hemodialysis services have been temporarily suspended due to quality issues encountered during our recent operations,” the statement read.

Hemodialysis is a critical medical procedure used to cleanse the blood of patients with kidney failure using a dialysis machine and an artificial kidney filter.

The hospital assured that management is actively addressing the issues encountered and working towards a swift resolution to resume services.

“We are implementing corrective measures to restore hemodialysis services as soon as possible, potentially by the end of next week,” the statement concluded.

Patients and stakeholders are advised to stay tuned for further updates regarding the resumption of hemodialysis services at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
