The umpire was dissatisfied with the size of the logo for sponsor DeLonghi and asked Giorgi if she might change it. “I do not have any change, and this is my only dress.” I played with it before,” Giorgi could be heard saying.

According to top tennis analyst Jose Morgado, the umpire told Giorgi she may continue the match but would discuss the logo with the ‘administration’ thereafter.

The problem was reportedly related to the size of the logo for kitchen appliance manufacturer DeLonghi on Giorgi’s chest.

Despite the criticism, Giorgi went on to defeat No. 7 ranked Aryna Sabalenka at Roland Garros on Sunday, May 29. Giorgi won 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. She has reached the fourth round of the French Open.
