Caleb Farley’s home in Mooresville, North Carolina, was destroyed in an explosion on August 22, 2023, killing his father Robert Farley and injuring another man.
His father Robert M. Farley, 61, was discovered dead in the Mooresville house debris Tuesday morning, according to Kent Greene, director of Iredell County Fire Services and Emergency Management.

The cause of the explosion is being investigated, but Greene believes gas must have collected over time and found its way to an ignition source. The explosion, which was judged accidental by local officials, began in a bedroom and caused minimal damage to the nearby residences.
Caleb Farley said his father “wasn’t supposed to go out like this” after he was killed Tuesday during an explosion at Caleb’s $3 million North Carolina home.
“Daddy, you a legend. I love you,” Farley said in a series of videos on Instagram following the tragedy. He ended his tribute on social media with a photo of his father playing golf in front of a waterfall.
