Former MMA star Cain Velasquez has been arrested as the suspect in a shooting Monday near Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue in Morgan Hill.

This is coming after a man was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Velasquez was booked into the Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held on no bail.
The former UFC heavyweight champion and wrestling star was born in Salinas and lives in the South Bay.
The shooting was reported at 3:14 p.m. Pacific time, police said.

Caín Ramirez Velasquez is an American professional wrestler and retired mixed martial artist, currently appearing for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.
He is widely known for his time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he competed in the heavyweight division and became a two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion.
