When Belser’s label with its bold and elegant Helvetica text was first unveiled in 1994, it was hailed as a victory of both graphic design and public health. The nutritional information on the label was intended to help people make educated decisions about their diet in response to the lack of standardized nutritional information on food goods.

Belser’s label, with its sharp contrast between light and dark lettering, was created with the consumer in mind. It was compared to the Apple iPod because of its meticulous design and easy usability.
