Bryan Marchment Passing: Everything to know about Bryan Marchment’s death

Bryan Marchment Former NHL defenseman died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 6 2022 in Montreal, according to his agent. He was 53. The cause of death was not immediately known.

”It is heartbreaking,” Florida Panthers general manager Bill Zito said from his team headquarters in Montreal. Marchment was in Montreal for the NHL draft as a scout for the San Jose Sharks.

Marchment spent parts of 17 NHL seasons with Winnipeg, Chicago, Hartford, Edmonton, Tampa Bay, San Jose, Colorado, Toronto, and Calgary between 1989 and 2006. Since 2007, the Scarborough, Ontario native has worked in scouting and other capacities for the Sharks and their American Hockey League affiliate.

Marchment participated in the 1982 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a Mississauga minor ice hockey team.

Marchment is survived by his wife Kim, son Mason, a forward with the Florida Panthers, and daughter Logan. His nephew, Jake Marchment, was also a draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2014.
