Cook embarked on this monumental challenge almost a year ago, with the initial aim to finish by Christmas 2023. However, the journey took an unexpected turn, lasting 352 days and presenting numerous challenges along the way.

Throughout his adventure, Cook encountered dramatic twists, life-threatening situations, and harsh conditions, including traversing deserts, mountains, and rainforests. He and his team faced armed robbery, border delays, police escorts, illnesses, injuries, and challenging terrains.

Despite these obstacles, on Sunday, April 7, 2024, Cook completed his final marathon, joined by supporters he had inspired along the journey. His achievement, documented on social media, marks him as the first person to run the entire length of the continent.

Moreover, Cook’s remarkable feat has not only pushed the boundaries of endurance but also raised more than £650,000 for his chosen charities, surpassing halfway to his £1 million target.

As he concludes this extraordinary journey, Cook’s resilience, determination, and philanthropy serve as an inspiration to many, leaving a lasting legacy across Africa and beyond.
