Brian Robinson (cyclist) Wife: Meet Audrey Robinson

Audrey Robinson was the wife of Brian Robinson BEM a British road cyclist who competed in the 1950s and early 1960s.

Brian Robinson died at the age of 91 on October 25, 2022. His death was announced on Twitter by his grandson, fellow cyclist Jake Womersley: “It’s with great sadness that the family of Brian Robinson have to announce his passing yesterday.”

Brian Robinson was the first British rider to complete the Tour de France and the first to win a stage. He was the winner of the 1961 Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré stage race.

Brian Robinson’s success as a professional cyclist in mainland Europe paved the way for other Britons to follow in his footsteps.

Robinson retired at the age of 33. Robinson was named the ninth-best British rider of the twentieth century by Cycling magazine. He was inducted into the British Cycling Hall of Fame in 2009
