The musician Brian Edward McBride is most known for being one half of the band Stars of the Lid. Additionally, he used his own name to self-publish two solo albums on Kranky, When The Detail Lost Its Freedom and The Effective Disconnect.

Bill Shanahan and Brian collaborated. Artist and sign maker Brian. He oversees the high school debate camp at the University of Texas National Institute of Forensics (UTNIF) throughout the summer.
He is presently the University of Southern California’s policy debate coach. In August 2023, McBride passed away. There is no mention of a death date or cause.

He lived in Los Angeles with his cats (“Ead” and “Nadine”, presumably named after the characters in Twin Peaks, of which he was a fan). He was an active member of the policy debate community.
There is no news regarding the personal life of Brian. So his wife, girlfriend and children are unknown to the media.
