Brian Kemp Tax Refund, Gas Tax, Teacher Raises, Campaign, Education

Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia has signed a bill to refunds state taxes worth more than $1.1 billion.

The refund to individuals and households is in categories and ranges between $250 to $500, and will only be paid to people who filed tax returns between 2020 and 2021.

Kemp has signed a law that temporarily suspends payment of taxes on motor fuel and gasoline.

Kemp’s administration instituted a $2,000 pay raise for teachers.

Kemp’s administration has promised to continue to fund the state employee salary increases. In addition, employees in areas with hard-to-fill jobs, such as corrections and mental health agencies, would receive a higher pay raise.

Kemp attended Athens Academy up until the ninth grade before heading to Clarke Central High School to play football for Billy Henderson.

He then proceeded to the University of Georgia, where he studied Agriculture.
