American-Australian professional basketball coach and former player Brian Goorjian is the head coach of the Australian men’s national basketball team.
Following his college career, Goorjian moved to Australia where he signed as an undrafted for Melbourne Tigers where he spent eight seasons.
In 1988, he began his coaching career with Eastside Melbourne Spectres as a head coach where he stint for three seasons prior to joining South East Melbourne Magic from 1992 to 1998.

Before working as an associate coach of the Guangdong Southern Tigers from 2015 to 2016, Goorjian previously served as head coach for Victoria Titans (1998–2002), Sydney Kings (2002–2008), South Dragons (2008–2009), and Dongguan Leopards (2009–2015).
Goorjian also worked as Special Advisor of the Shanghai Sharks in 2016, and assistant coach for Xinjiang Flying Tigers before landing the role of head coach for Illawarra Hawks from 2020 to 2022.
