Brent Moss, who helped Racine Park High School win the WIAA Division 1 state football championship in 1988 and led Wisconsin to a Big Ten title and a Rose Bowl victory over UCLA in 1994, passed away on November 13, 2022.

He was 50. The cause of death was unknown at the time. “It’s sad,” said Steve Stark, the team’s starting right guard in 1993. “It truly is.”

Moss finished his career at Park with 4,678 yards and 78 touchdowns. In the 1989 Division 1 state semifinals, his final high school game was a 34-31 overtime loss to Waukesha South.
Moss attended UW for three seasons after missing the 1990 season. As a freshman in 1991, he rushed 61 times for 219 yards, then improved to 739 yards on 165 carries as a sophomore in 1992.
