He was born in Edmonton, Alberta, but his formative years were spent in Tsawwassen, British Columbia. Gallagher’s family played a crucial role in his upbringing and early exposure to the world of hockey.

At the age of 12, Gallagher and his family relocated to Tsawwassen, where he continued to hone his skills and passion for ice hockey. His journey in the sport began at a young age when he participated in the 2005 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament as a member of a minor ice hockey team from Burnaby.
