While filming the Mummy, lead actor, Brendan Fraser, nearly died from suffocation during his hanging scene in the opening of the film. He was only saved when his partner, Rachel Weisz realized he had stopped breathing and was even in need of resuscitation. The crew members admitted that it was a huge mistake.

He also suffered multiple injuries while filming all The Mummy movies during the peak of his career. He had multiple surgeries including a laminectomy, a back operation to relieve stress on the spinal cord or nerves, partial joint surgery of the knee, other back procedures to weld the compressed spinal pads, repair of the vocal cord, and other procedures.

Fraser’s excellent career ended sadly when he spoke out about being sexually assaulted by a Hollywood key member. According to him, he was sexually assaulted by the former President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Philip Berk at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2003.
However, Berk denied all allegations, and Fraser was gradually blacklisted by Hollywood producers afterward, creating a career gap for years.
