Brandon Crawford is an American professional baseball player who plays as a shortstop for the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball (MLB).

He is the son of Mike Crawford and Lynn Crawford. He was born in Mountain View and his family first lived in Menlo Park before moving to Pleasanton when he was in elementary school, where he grew up.

Brandon Crawford grew up a San Francisco Giants fan, and when AT&T Park opened in 2000, his family got season tickets and a commemorative brick in Willie Mays Plaza outside the ballpark.

He was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the fourth round of the 2008 MLB Draft and made his MLB debut with the team on May 27, 2011.

He has been named a three-time All-Star (2015, 2018, and 2021), a four-time Gold Glove Award winner (2015-2017, and 2021), a two-time Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award winner (2012 and 2016), and a Silver Slugger Award winner at shortstop in 2015.

Crawford has played the most games at shortstop for the Giants in franchise history, and at the end of the 2022 season was 2nd of all active players in games played at shortstop
