Bono is an Irish musician and political activist with a net worth of $700 million. He is best known as the lead singer of the band U2.

U2 has become one of the world’s most popular bands, releasing 14 studio albums, consistently selling out live venues earning millions of dollars per tour, and winning 22 Grammy awards.

He is also an investor and philanthropist. In 1992, Bono purchased and renovated the Clarence Hotel in Dublin, transforming it from a 70-room establishment to a five-star, 49-bedroom establishment.

Bono was a board member of Elevation Partners, a private-equity firm that attempted to buy Eidos Interactive in 2005 and later invested in other entertainment businesses.

Through Elevation Partners, Bono invested in the Forbes Media group in the United States; his firm acquired a minority stake in Forbes Media, which included Forbes magazine, the Forbes.com website, and other assets. T

he deal’s terms were not disclosed, but reports indicated that the stake was worth around €194 million ($250 million).

Elevation Partners also owned a 1.5 percent stake in Facebook, which it paid $210 million for.

Although it was reported in February 2012 that Bono’s stake was valued at approximately US$1 billion, a 2015 Forbes article stated that this estimate was based on an incorrect attribution of shares.
