The community of Ashiresu in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region was plunged into shock and grief following the discovery of the lifeless body of a farmer on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

The deceased, identified as Alhaji Malik, was found hanging from a pear tree with gunshot wounds to the head. His tricycle, locally known as ‘aboboyaa,’ was found abandoned at the scene.
According to initial reports, Alhaji Malik had ventured out to harvest pears for sale, a routine task for the hardworking farmer. However, when he failed to return home as expected, concerns grew among his family members.

A search operation was launched, and tragically, Alhaji Malik’s lifeless body was discovered on the tree, with bloodstains indicating the severity of the situation.
Kofi Gyabaa, reporting the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, conveyed the distressing news, detailing the grim circumstances of the farmer’s demise.
Local authorities were promptly notified, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police. The body of Alhaji Malik was later released to his family for burial, in accordance with Islamic customs.
The untimely death of Alhaji Malik has left his family and the community reeling in shock and mourning. He leaves behind a grieving wife and more than six children, who are now faced with the daunting task of coming to terms with their profound loss.
