Bobby Labonte Parents: Meet Bob Labonte and Martha Labonte

Bobby Labonte is a semi-retired American professional stock car racing driver and current Fox NASCAR analyst.

Bobby Labonte was born on May 8, 1964, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Bob Labonte and Martha Labonte.

Bobby’s father Bob was a master mechanic who helped start his career. In 1982 he made his first appearance in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the Martinsville Speedway racing for his dad Bob Labonte and he finished 26th in his debut

Bobby Labonte and his father Bob worked on the Billy Hagan-owned NASCAR Cup Series team in 1984.

After leaving the Billy Hagan team, he and his father formed and funded their late model team, and Labonte began turning heads as he raced throughout the Carolinas, earning a dominating 10 wins en route to the 1987 Caraway (N.C.) Speedway track title, which was a huge highlight at the time.

Labonte was able to fund occasional starts in the NASCAR Grand National series with the prize money he began to earn. Bobby Labonte has always praised his father for being the guiding force in his career.
