Roberto Martin Antonio Bonilla is an American former professional baseball third baseman and outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball from 1986 to 2001.

Born February 23, 1963 in The Bronx, New York, Bonilla is the son of Roberto Bonilla Sr. and Regina Bonilla.
Bonilla played high school baseball at Herbert H. Lehman High School in the Bronx, where he graduated in 1981.
After high school, he was not chosen in the 1981 Major League Baseball draft and as such spent a semester at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York pursuing a degree in computer science.
Bonilla was then signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates after being spotted by scout Syd Thrift at a baseball camp in Europe.
He was subsequently acquired by The Chicago White Sox through the Rule 5 draft in the 1985–86 offseason, and Bonilla made his major league debut with the White Sox at the beginning of the 1986 season. Later, that year, Bonilla was reacquired by the Pirates.

Bonilla went on to have a stint with other MLB teams including New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, Florida Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals.
