British comedian Bob Hope died on July 27, 2003, after suffering from pneumonia. He was aged 100.

Who Was Bob Hope?
Bob Hope was a comedian, actor, entertainer, and producer for over 8 decades and was well known for his works on network radio, television, and USO Tours.
Born on May 29, 1903, Hope appeared in over 70 films, stage productions and television series and wrote 14 books during his lifetime. He also anchored the Academy Awards about 19 times.

Hope additionally worked as a broadcaster and presenter on NBC Radio, and the NBC television network.
Hope entertained military personnel around the world by making several tours for the United Service Organizations (USO). In 1997, he was named an honorary veteran of the Armed Forces.
Hope received many other awards during his lifetime, including five honorary awards by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences:
Hope retired from public life in 1998, and a couple of years later, he suffered gastrointestinal bleeding and then pneumonia.
