Bob Brown had a stroke in April 2003. Afterwards, he lived in a rehabilitation centre in Oakland, California, where he died on June 16, 2023, at the age of 81.

Brown’s wife, Cecelia said Brown died surrounded by friends and family at a rehabilitation centre, where he had been admitted following a stroke in April.

The six-time Pro Bowler was nicknamed the Boomer and was described as a fierce competitor by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Brown was known for his aggressive and intimidating style of play in the 1960s and early 70s. The Philadelphia Eagles elected Brown as the second overall pick in the 1964 NFL draft. He played for the Eagles from 1964 to 1968, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, the Los Angeles Rams from 1968 to 1970, and the Oakland Raiders from 1971 to 1973.
