Bob Babich Obituary, Cause Of Death, Wife, Children

Bob Babich, a College Football Hall of Famer who played linebacker for the Chargers and Browns in the NFL, has died. He was 74 years old. Babich passed away on April 3rd, at his home in Clairemont, California. The National Football Foundation announced his death on Wednesday. His cause of death was not stated.

It appears that Bob was a private person. There is no way to confirm if he was married and had no children before his passing.

In the 1969 NFL Draft, he was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round, as the 18th overall pick and the second linebacker taken.

He appeared in all 42 regular-season games for the Chargers over three seasons. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns on September 6, 1973, in exchange for a first-round draught pick in 1974 and a second-round pick in 1975

In 1975, Babich was inducted into the Miami University Athletics Hall of Fame. His induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994 made him the first Miami (Ohio) player to be inducted.
