President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has withdrawn the appointment of the Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, Victoria Adu, with immediate effect.

A letter signed by the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development Osei Bonsu Amoah on March 19 said, the regional minister is “requested to take oversight responsibility of the municipal assembly pending confirmation of a new municipal chief executive.”
The President thanked Madam Adu for her service to the state.

This followed by the President, on February 3, terminated the appointment of some 24 District Chief Executives as a precursor to his ministerial reshuffle on February 14.
The list included the DCE for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Isaac Kwadwo Boabeng, and Adentan Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumua.
The president revoked their appointment per Article 243 (3) b of the Constitution and Section 20 (3) b of the Local Government Act 2014 (Act 936).
