Biltmore Tree Accident: One person dead after tree falls on Biltmore Estate Road

Casey Skudin. a New York firefighter was killed when a tree fell and crushed his vehicle at Biltmore Estate on Friday, June 17 afternoon.  Casey Skudin  was a decorated member of the New York City Fire Department,

According to Biltmore Estate officials, a tree fell across a road at the estate’s entrance during a weather event with heavy winds and struck a visitor vehicle. Three people and one child were in the vehicle, and they were sent to Mission Hospital.

Officials say Buncombe County EMS, Asheville Fire Department, and Biltmore onsite staff responded to the event. One adult died as a result of their injuries.

This is a tragedy, and we are devastated by the news. Our hearts go out to the family and their loved ones, and we are here to help at this difficult time.

Skudin’s death was an “awful tragedy and loss to his family and the FDNY.” “The Fire Department will assist FF Skudin’s family and coworkers at this difficult time.”
