On September 26, 2019, Billy Strings was voted the International Bluegrass Music Association Guitar Player of the Year in Raleigh, North Carolina. His album Home won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
In 2021, Billy Strings joined Bill Kreutzmann’s Billy & the Kids for some shows, along with James Casey (saxophone). As a solo artist, he was part of the Newport Folk Festival in July 2021.
At the 2022 International Bluegrass Music Awards, Strings was nominated for six awards, winning Entertainer of the Year for the second consecutive year, while “Red Daisy” won Song of the Year.
