Bill Skarsgard’s parents were married for 32 years before divorcing in 2007 when he was 17 years old.
In 2009, his father remarried Megan Everett. Skarsgard is one of eight children, two of whom are half-brothers from his father’s second marriage.

Bill Skarsgård’s father Stellan Skarsgard is known for his collaborations with director Lars von Trier appearing in Breaking the Waves (1996), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Dogville (2007), Melancholia (2011), and Nymphomaniac (2014).
He is also known for his role as Boris Shcherbina in the HBO miniseries Chernobyl (2019), for which he received a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries, or Television Film and a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
Bill Skarsgard rose to prominence in 2017 as Pennywise the Clown in the horror film “It” for which Skarsgard was nominated for Best Villain at the Seattle Film Critics Awards and won Best Supporting Actor at the Fright Meter Awards.
