In recent years, Mr. Pinkney and his wife of over two decades, Migdalia Vachier Pinkney, whom he met salsa dancing, maintained a charter boat business in Fajardo, P.R., on the eastern extremity of the island. Along with his sister Naomi Pinkney, daughter Angela Walton, and two grandkids, she also predeceased him.
