Bill Campbelll and his wife Linda Campbell were parents of three children, Emily, Marnie and Joseph, and four grandchildren. There is not much information about his children.

Bill Campbell passed away on January 6, 2023, after a battle with cancer, according to multiple reports. He was 74 years old. Funeral arrangements have not been made public.

Bill Campbell was a member of the American League’s Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, and Detroit Tigers, as well as the National League’s Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, and Montreal Expos.

Campbell spent 15 seasons in the major leagues with seven different teams, the most notable of which were his years with the Red Sox from 1977 to 1981.

Campbell joined the Red Sox as a free agent, and after his time in Boston ended, he signed a free-agent contract with the Chicago Cubs in late 1981, and he played for the Cubs in 1982.

In retirement, he lived in the Chicago, Illinois area. He also coached for the Red Sox and volunteered as a coach for youth baseball leagues.
