Beryl Frances Vertue CBE was an English television producer, media executive, and agent. She was the founder and chairman of the independent television production company Hartswood Films.

Vertue married Clements Vertue in 1951. They ultimately divorced. Together, they had two children: Sue and Debbie.
Beryl Vertue also became a television producer and married writer and producer Steven Moffat, of Doctor Who and Sherlock fame. Vertue died on 12 February 2022, at the age of 90.

Beryl Vertue, the renowned British television producer and founder of Hartswood Films, died on Saturday, according to reports in the UK media. She was 90. No cause of death has been given.
The influential media executive “passed away peacefully” on Saturday surrounded by family.
How Did Beryl Vertue Die?
“It’s with the heaviest of hearts that we have to share the sad news that mum/Beryl passed away peacefully last night,” her daughters and Hartswood Films co-producers Sue and Debbie said in a statement to Reuters.
“It wasn’t COVID, it was just her nearly 91-year-old body saying enough is enough.”
