Bert Newton, known officially as Albert Watson Newton, was an Australian media personality. Bert Newton was a member of the Order of Australia and a Member of the Order of the British Empire.

Bert Newton won many accolades during his times as a media personality and notable among them is the four-time winning of the Gold Logie Award. Bert Newton is an inductee in the Logie Hall of Fame and he has hosted the Logie Awards on seventeen occasions.

Bert Newton was born on July 23, 1938, and died on October 30, 2021, at the age of 83. Bert Newton went through heart surgery on four occasions and also suffered pneumonia.

Unfortunately, the health status of Bert Newton gradually deteriorated as his leg was amputated after he suffered a toe infection.

The death of Beth Newton has been attributed to his declining health although an official cause of death has not been revealed.

Bert Newton is survived by his wife, Patti Newton, and his two children: Matthew and Lauren Newton.
