American actor Ben Masters passed away from complications of COVID-19 while battling dementia on January 11, 2023, at age 75 in Palm Springs, California, United States.

Ben Masters was born on May 6, 1947 in Corvallis, Oregon, United States to Floyd Beryl Masters and Mary Minnie Cozad.

Masters graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in theatre in 1969. He then moved to New York City, where he starred in on and off-Broadway productions such as Captain Brassbound’s Conversion with Ingrid Bergman, The Cherry Orchard with Meryl Streep, and Boys in the Band.

Masters began in daytime dramas when he portrayed Vic Strang on Another World for three months in 1982.

He subsequently starred in over 40 films and tv shows including Illusions (1983), Key Exchange (1985), The Deliberate Stranger (1986), Noble House (1988), Lady Killer (1995), The Second Civil War (1997), Pensacola: Wings of Gold (1998–1999), et al.

Ben Masters’ final role was Julian Crane on the NBC soap opera Passions from 1999 to 2008.

Masters is survived by his sister Cheryl Lerner and nieces Hannah and Clea Lerner.

There will be no memorial or funeral services for Ben Masters, Deadline reported.
