During a meeting with the Clergy in the North East Region as part of his nationwide tour, Vice President Bawumia stated that his remarks may have been misconstrued.
He explained that his intention was to acknowledge the significant contributions of churches and other faith-based institutions to national development, including the construction of schools, hospitals, and other vital facilities.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted the crucial role played by churches in providing essential services and support to communities across the country.
“I was joking when I made the statement about incentivizing churches. I do not advocate for paying churches but rather for providing them with incentives to continue their commendable work,” he clarified.
