Barbara Young Husband: Meet Jack Pulman

Jack Pulman was a British television screenwriter who was married to Barbara Young a well-known English actress. They had one child together. A daughter named Liz Pulman.

On May 20, 1979, Jack Pulman died of a heart attack in London. Private Schulz, his final screenplay, was produced after his death.

In 1982, his widow, Barbara Young, received a posthumous writers award from The Royal Television Society for his contributions to the show.

Jack Pulman was best known for the critically acclaimed 1976 BBC television series I, Claudius, which was based on Robert Graves’ novels I, Claudius, and Claudius the God.

He also wrote the screenplays for The Executioner in 1970 and Kidnapped, a film adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Kidnapped in 1971.

Barbara Young passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in a Cambridge hospital surrounded by her family on 27 April 2023.

Barbara’s cause of death is unknown, however, she had been in hospital over the last few days.

Barbara Young is best known for her portrayal of Agrippina, the future Emperor Nero’s mother, in the landmark 1976 BBC serial I, Claudius.
