Barbara Walters Died: What Did Barbara Walters Die Of?

Baraba Jill Walters, a pioneer for women in broadcasting by becoming the first female co-anchor of a network evening news program has died. Walters was born on September 25, 1929 and died on December 30, 2022. She was 93 years.

The astute journalist died in her home in New York and while an exact cause of death was not stated, she did have some known health challenges in the past.

In May 2010, Walters revealed that she would be having open heart surgery to replace a faulty aortic valve.

This was after she had known for quite a while that she was suffering from aortic valve stenosis, even though she was symptom-free.

After the procedure to fix the faulty heart valve, her spokeswoman, Cindi Berger said that the procedure “went well, and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome.”

Walters returned to The View and her Sirius XM satellite show, Here’s Barbara, in September 2010.

Walters retired permanently from both shows four years later.

Having hosted numerous television programs, including Today, The View, 20/20, and the ABC Evening News, Walters will be remembered for her interviewing ability and popularity with viewers.
