Barbara Dickson Husband: Who Is Oliver Cookson?

In 1984, Barbara Dickson married former actor Oliver Cookson, who now works as an Assistant Director in television for BBC, and has three sons.

Dickson and her family live in Edinburgh. She was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours in 2002 for her services to Music and Drama.

Dickson is also a two-time Oliver Award-winning actress, with roles including Viv Nicholson in the musical  Spend Spend Spend, and was the original Mrs Johnstone in Willy Russell’s long-grinning musical Blood Brothers. On television, she starred as Anita Braithwaite in Band of Gold.

Between March and April 2022, Barbara and her band toured the UK in support of the album, “Time Is Going Faster”. In March 2022, Barbara starred in Radio 4’s The Road and the Miles to Dundee written by Val McDermid and directed by Turan Ali.
